Antoinette Forsythe aka The Philosophizer
I am described as a cultivated critical thinker; an analyst with great foresight. I am not looking for readers to agree with my points of view, in fact, I desire the opposite; feedback and comments that bring something new to the discussion; not your typical responses. I love reading comments that make may me rethink my stand point; I LOVE to learn, so if you tell something that I do not already know, that will truly make my day!
DARING to think outside the box, BOLD enough to speak my mind, STRONG enough to stand alone, BRAVE enough to be the first, BLESSED with the gift of foresight, WISE enough to be open; I dare to be me!
May God Bless You and THANK YOU in advance for contributing to this forum of open minded discussions.

The Thinker is a bronze and marble sculpture by Auguste Rodin held in the Musée Rodin in Paris. It depicts a man in sober meditation battling with a powerful internal struggle.

Criticism, Analysis, Critical Thinking – (1) Criticism is the judgement (using analysis and evaluation) of the merits and faults of the actions or work of another individual. Criticism can mean merely to evaluate without necessarily finding fault; however, usually the word implies the expression of disapproval. (2) Analysis is the process of breaking a complex topic or substance into smaller parts to gain a better understanding of it. (3) Critical thinking can occur whenever one judges, decides, or solves a problem; in general, whenever one must figure out what to believe or what to do, and do so in a reasonable and reflective way. Reading, writing, speaking, and listening can all be done critically or uncritically. Critical thinking is crucial to becoming a close reader and a substantive writer. Expressed most generally, critical thinking is “a way of taking up the problems of life.”Irrespective of the sphere of thought, “a well cultivated critical thinker”:
- raises important questions and problems, formulating them clearly and precisely;
- gathers and assesses relevant information, using abstract ideas to interpret it effectively
- comes to well-reasoned conclusions and solutions, testing them against relevant criteria and standards;
- thinks open-mindedly within alternative systems of thought, recognizing and assessing, as need be, their assumptions, implications, and practical consequences; and
- communicates effectively with others in figuring out solutions to complex problems; without being unduly influenced by others’ thinking on the topic.
